Mom's Last Night in Shanghai

We were not sure what to do at first, but finally decided on going to the good old Nanjing Rd. Even though we had been there a few times before it was still nice to take a walk on the lively street with the cool evening breeze.

We stopped into our favorite store on the strip. Not hard to imagine that it is the Shanghai First Food Store. Every time you walk in you always see a huge line along the wall on the left side of the store. We always checked to see what people were buying but never actually bought anything till now. Everyone was buying fresh cookies by the pound. We knew it must be good but weren't sure what to get and if they'd let us buy just a few. We made the line and thought we'd have plenty of time to decide on what to get, but before we knew it was our turn. Still not sure what to buy we just got a little of everything. I am sure the lady might have been a little annoyed considering most of the other customers would order by the pound. But she was nice and measured it all out for us. All I have to say is they were all great and I can't wait to get back to have some more.
