The Huangpu River Cruise

(Left to Right: Stephanie, Henny, Lianna, and Me)
Saturday night the school offered a trip to go on the Huangpu River to see the Wai Tan (aka The Bund). The trip only cost us 10 RMB and the school put in the rest of the money. So it was a must do at less than $2 USD. When the trip started with the bus ride to the dock there were signs on how the school was able to get such a deal. Fist the bus driver did not know where to go and needed constant directions. And then we waited almost an hour at the dock to board the boat. I was starting to think the trip was just to view the other river boats go buy and not actually get on them. Then we got a nice suprise when we heard load bangs and saw the sparks in the sky. There was a fireworks show right in front of us. It was really quite spectacular and we were so close. I think they were for the start of the Special Olympics.

I prefer the old historic side of the river to the new Pudong Area. The buildings look really nice lit up at night.
